Autodesk Revit Architecture

Just getting back into Revit after a two year hiatus, so I may just be missing this item. Does anyone know if after assigning various materials to the floor, walls and ceiling of a particular room if there is a way to have those material choices applied to a room finish schedule? It seems that I have to type those in manually, but I would think that there would be an automated way to accomplish the same thing.
