I haven't completely understood when inserting a model link or several model links into a project, why under Visiblity/Graphics Overrides there seems to be a duplicate Visiblity of the lin?.  When I expand the link there appears to be a sublink with a numerical name such as 5 and in parantheses it indicates <Not Shared>.  I often when the lists are not expanded, I set up a view template from the main link in the list and appluy to the intended views.  A problem I run into is once that VG View Template is saved certain layers do not hide and it forces me to manipulate the sub link.  What is the purpose of that secondary sublink and why is that the one I should be using to set up some VG View sets?

I found the following in the WikiHelp:
This dialog (Revit Links) is arranged in a tree structure with the parent nodes referring to separate files (the primary linked model), and the child nodes referring to instances (copies) of the model in the project. Changing the parent node affects all instances, while changing a child node affects only that instance.

Since the parent node affects all instances of a link in the project, you would not use this for view templates, since the templates are applied to a single view (and shouldn't be affecting the appearance of Revit links not in the view they are applied to).
