    Missing light fixture tags

    Hi everyone,

Am just starting to explore Revit and was trying to add some lights to my building to play with some renders.  When I try and load anything from within the 'lighting fixtures' however, I am met with the message:

"There is no tag loaded for lighting fixtures, do you want to load one now?"

I have explored a number of other family types, walls, doors, windows, kitchen and bathroom etc and never had this message/error occur.  If anyone could perhaps explain in a little more detail what this means and how I can fix it I would be most appreciative.

    Thanks guys

Mr. Black, nice to see you again.

Well it just wants you to know there is no tag available for this

component. Everything gets a tag sooner or later, so when it

comes time to tag the thing, you won't wonder why there is no

tag, and you will remember how thoughtful it was of Revit to let

you know that. Isn't that sweet of Revit?

    Dear MrBlack911 (interesting name) :smileyhappy:

Lighting Fixture and it's annotation are two different revit families and required to load separately.

You can expect that since you are working in Revit Architecture, The template you have selected has annotation families for Architectural Families already loaded into it. Similarly Revit MEP file template has all annotation families for Mehcanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire fighting equipments by default loaded into it.

You can simple click on 'Yes' in the appeared message and load the lighting fixture annotation family from folder : Annotations/Electrical

Thankyou also Parveen.  Your explanation and folder location solved my issue nicely.

Well? I'm always well. I'm wellness certified for life. lol

That reminds me, many of us need to start preparing for the

Autodesk Certified Professional for Revit 2013. It's just a

simple test to see what you know about that version.
