    Importing .sat File into revit

    Hi

     

    I'm working in Revit 2011 and am trying to import a .sat file into my model which was exported from Catia V5 but when i try i get the following message and nothing gets imported into my model.

     

    Some SAT elements were lost during import.

     

    Any thoughts would be greatfully appreciated.

    You could try creating a new Family, perhaps in the Generic Model Category, or whichever category matches your SAT import object. Import the SAT file into the family, save and load into your project.

     

    Make sure imported categories are turned on in the project.

    On McNeel’s site there is a PDF with recommendations to optimize Rhino to Revit exports; I have included the link below.  While this is a different application, there are some standard recommendations to keep in mind when exporting to .sat for Revit:
