    Images in schedules

We normally do our Fixtures and Furniture Schedules in excel so that we can include product images for clarity.

This is a bit counterproductive as it means that we need to co-ordinate information in two locations.

In Revit is there a way of linking images to schedules or may be to families so that they appear in the schedule?

No. That is still in the wishlists of Revit. The only approximation I've seen about that is an add-on named Dynamic Legends by a company named Tools4Revit. It  creates a legend that shows values of parameters, similar to a schedule, but with the graphics included.
