Filling out parameters of title block of sheets ALL at a time,
- I’m wondering if there is a way to fill the values of all parameters of a title block for ALL sheets at a time. Are we supposed to fill out these parameters for each single sheet manually despite that fact that they are similar?
- Surely, I’m not taking here about the sort of information that differs from sheet to another like the “sheet name”
- Why ALL the parameters of the title block are not shown in the properties dialogue box?
- How to change the order of the sheets? Is there a way to move the sheet up and down?
- Is there an automated way to re-numbering the sheets based on a given start value say A001?
Thank you for the help,
Best

Hi.
1-Create a Sheet List and add these parameters. It becomes much easier to add them in a schedule format when all the information is in front of you.
2- Strange behaviour. Not sure why.
3- Either add a number before each sheet and change the order to ascending from the project browser properties found in the view ribbon, Windows panel, user interface tool.
Or create a shared parameter for your sheet from which you can control the sorting of your sheets through and not having to change the name of each view.
4- Also, do the changes in the sheet list created from the schedules/quantities. Much easier. There are addins that can do that for you, but you would have to buy them.

Thank you Ali for the answer,
1 Unfortunately, not all the perimeters included in the title block with be displayed in the fields! This is really very confusing
2 That’s true that filling out the values of parameters is much easier from the sheet list (created from schedules /quantities) but still we need to enter all these information for all the sheets one by one even in case the information is similar like the name of the project/client/etc.
3 I couldn’t find the option ascending/descending option in the properties dialogue. May be it is better to go for the second option that you have already proposed to handle this issue (shared parameter)
4 Re-numbering based on a given start value (like C001) is very frequent and better if it is handled automatically.
Best

1 & 2- Client is not included because it is the same client for the entire project and you only enter it once. To do that, go to manage, and under the settings panel, select the project information, and there you can provide information that never change such as project name, project number, client name, and so on.
2- For ascending descending, go to View, Windows, User interface drop down, and choose browser organization. There you will be able to better organize your views and sheets.
3- In you schedule, regardless of what it is, go to sorting grouping, and there you can specify the field you want to sort by (In my case a shared parameter), and then sort again by another field (in my case another shared parameter).
You see, it all depends on your company standards and what you're trying to achieve. I have added a subdiscipline parameter to place different types of drawings under different subdisciplines (framing plans, reinforcement plans, loading plans, waterproofing plans, ...). So now I have a discipline and a subdiscipline for each view.
So I have 2 shared parameters, one for the numbering of disciplines and one for the numbering of subdisciplines.
Good luck.

Thank you very much Ali for the prompt answer. This is very useful.
- In the title block I got parameters (such as Location and Division) that are not displayed on the project information to be filled out at a time!
- Sounds to work great managing the order of sheets! Thanks!
- The idea of having a parameter (and thus the sheets can be ordered by it) for the discipline is fantastic, I’ll be trying it and see it works with me.
- It remains to check if the sheets re-numbering (sheets re-numbering based on an initial given value say E001) issue can be solved.

1- For location you can access that in two ways.
a- go to project information, and under energy analysis click edit energy settings and you can change the location.
b- go to a 3d view, select sun path and choose sun path settings and you can access the location.
2- For division, I think this is a shared or project parameter custom made so you you probably can only change that in the schedule. Or go to the sheet and click on edit type, it should be there.
3- Renumbering works great for me using the method I told you.

Many thanks Ali for the colossal help,
my issue now that I got two parameters (user defined) on the title block but are not included on the list of field on the sheet list (screenshots are attached)
What might be the issue here?

Hi Jamal.
You need to check where these new parameters belong. (In which category). They should belong to sheets so that they may appear in the sheet list fields. Go to manage, project or shared parameters, and try to locate them. Then, once they are selected, go to the categories tab and make sure they fall under the sheet tab. (They may belong to several tabs.

Thank you very much Ali for the prompt help and support
Please, have a look on the attached screenshots! I couldn’t figure out how to go the categories!
Where it should be? At which mode?

Hi Jamal. I Don't understand what you mean so I created them and you can find them attached. There is a title block and a text file for the shared parameters.
1- I added the shared parameters to the title block and made sure text is selected.
2- In the project, I added the shared parameters from the project parameters menu and made sure to use the same ones created and not creat new ones.
Regards.
