    Defult Parameters

    Hello Everyone.

So we know that family files have some defult parameters like 'voltage' than can be shared into project schedule. We can also create shared parameter by making a new txt file.

Now I need to somehow add more defult parameters in my family because this single temple I am using do not have 'voltage' that I need. I want them to be readable by themself without a seperate txt need to be downloaded.

So I am wondering if there is a defult parameter text file avaliable within revit folder so that even if I loaded that finle in my family other can still read it without a extra text file?

Or if there are other ways to add some defult parameters I would like to know, thanks

If you are familiar with Shared Parameters, I'm guessing you're also familiar with Project Parameters. So if you don't want to have a separate text file to manage, you can add a 'Project Parameter'.

While this will allow you to avoid the text file, some other issues come along. For example, you will not be able to schedule or tag these parameters. Also these parameters will be added to ALL families in specific category (adding a project parameter called 'Company' to 'Furniture' category will add this parameter to ALL furnitures, not just one furniture family).

I hope this answers your question.
