Autodesk Revit Architecture

I am a novice with REVIT. I have created a roof assembly using a pre-engineered truss as the structure and cut a section through the building, the truss profile does not appear. If I load a truss family into the project and then space the trusses evenly througout in attempt to represent the construction accurately, am I creating redundancy with essentially two sets of trusses? The same can be said when using dimensional lumber, the individual members do not show in section when cut. I realize 2-d detail can be overlayed in section cuts, but should I expect to see individual members in section cuts?
