has anyone else downloaded Revit 7.0 and then tryed to get the license file for redundant server setup - and been told by autodesk that the product is not in there database yet - surely it is, otherwise they wouldn't have released it ???

Codes will be sent out when the CD's are pressed. 7.0 will run in trial mode with full capabilities until then. This is the way Revit has typically been released. It is put on the web a few weeks before the CD's are pressed. People have a couple of weeks to find the last few bugs. A new build is made and this is what is pressed to CD. 7.0 is quite complete in its final form, however there may be a couple of adjustments in the final build. So no one has received codes yet. But they are on the way.
