2013 Revit Update Error "Product could not be located on your computer"

I downloaded the autodesk_revit_archotecture_2013-64x_update1.exe and installed this update on my computer, which worked.

When my co-worker tried to install the same update, he received an error message that reads:

"The update release could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer.  Make sure that you are using the correct update release for the product."

We both have Revit 2013 and both have 64 bit machines.  Any ideas on what is causing this error?

It Sounds like you have the wrong update.........there is one for RAC 2013 "Standalone" verson like old, and the New REVIT   "common called OneBox".  verify which version you own and get the proper one accordingly.

if your running revit from the buidling design suite you need to download this one: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20121968&linkID=16831210

Yea this was wrecking my head. There are two different download sites –

    Revit standalone:

    Update 1: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20121970&linkID=9273944

    Update 2: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20679231&linkID=9273944

as part of the design suite

    update 1: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20121968&linkID=16831210

    update 2: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20679039&linkID=16831210

Depending on which you have installed one will work – the other you get ‘cannot install as expected Autodesk product cannot be located on your computer’ error message

Autodesk should make this known on both pages. Would avoid needless confusion and frustration.

I had the same problem and even considered that there would be a different update for "One Box" versus stand-alones, but I didn't find the different download site.

Autodesk - Please make it MORE CLEAR which one is which and where to download them.

I have tried BOTH update 2 versions and neither one works for me.  We keep getting stalled at 85% and then it sits there doing nothing, wait, it says "Gathering required information..."  You say there are 2 separate update files one for just Revit 2013 and one for Revit 2013 BDS, but if you look, they are both the same size 83,079kb (I'm just saying)
