QTO opening saved project creating editing issues

I have been working on a project and have revisited it recently. I reopen the file and viewing the sheets has become difficult. Colors lag, it shows lines from the drawings as if they dont move when zooming. When i click the area take-off i dont get the usual corner points i used to create them. I also have tried changing the colors, the color changes in the WBS but not on the actual pdf. I also can delete the area on the WBS but it stays on the sheet. Basically this file is frozen and i am unable to truely make changes.

    Hi pke,

From what you described the sheet seems corrupted as when you delete elements from the takeoff palette, they should no longer reside on the sheet.  It seems there is some detachment of the takeoff objects on the sheet from those in the takeoff palette and workbook.

As a possible method to fix the takeoff objects on the sheet,
    1. Open the sheet
    2. Select Edit > Select All
    3. Select Edit > Cut
    4. Select Edit > Paste

Does it redraw the takeoff objects on the sheet and resolve the issue?

If not, to test, if you delete all the takeoff in the takeoff palette, are there ghostlike remaining takeoff objects on the sheet?

If so, I recommend logging a support case through the subscription center and sending your files:

Also, I would check if a backup of the file doesn’t have the issue.  If you have the Auto Save function enabled under Edit > Performance > Autosave, there should be .bak files created alongside the ATO that you can reopen after renaming their .bak extension to .ATO.

If you don’t have Auto Save enabled, I would recommend enabling it in case an issue occurs in which you need to revert back to an earlier version of the project.

Also, please ensure that you have the latest updates/hotfixes installed:

I tried what was suggested above with no luck, However if you copy the page the take offs duplicate and you just delete the original page with the issues.

This problem continues to happen everytime i reopen a file i have worked on previously. Colors dont show up, editing is impossible, and parts of sheets show up on sheets they are not suppose to.

    Dear pke

Thank you for the update. Are you able to work around the issue, through copying the takeoff on the sheet, pasting to a new sheet, and deleting the problematic one?

Would you be able to send a project that demonstrates the issue or log a support request through the subscription center to send a file if the information is sensative.

I am able to work around the issue by copying and paste it. However, on this file I fortunately only have a handful of sheets, if the project where to be larger it would be a huge headache. The updates and service pack for QTO 2013 link does not open anything up when clicked and i am not sure if i have that update. I also will try to send a file through the technical support.

    Hi pke

Thank you for the update.  I checked the link for the service packs just now, and it works on my machine.  Perhaps if you try it now or from another browser, it will work.

Perhaps your browser security is blocking you from downloading the zip.  Are you not able to access the page:

QTO 2013 Hotfix 1 - Drag and Drop
     - http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL20400244

Are you able to access that page but can't download the aqto_2013_Hotfix.zip link?

Below is the link from that page for the hotfix.  If you copy paste this into your browser address bar does it download or pop up a warning that you are about to download the zip:

I already have that updated on my system, I misunderstood the link under "updated and services" for Autodesk QTO 2013. I expected it to open a page with updates and service packages however the only update is listed below.
