Standardize the image size for the image data field?

Is there a way to let the system auto-resize the product thumbnail image after loading it into an image field? The source of the product image could have different sizes. Also, when displaying the image on the item detail tab, is there a way to position it on the right side of the tab since all the data fields are aligned on the left. Thanks!

You can set the display settings in Administration -> Setup -> General -> Global Configuration Options

I'll play around a bit and report back, but I *think* it can only be aligned on the left.
