I don't currently see anyway of searching a matrix with a script.  Instead of the matrix being considered an array it looks like it is seperate entities that is not tied together in any way.  If this function isn't currently available is there any future plans for it?  Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately no, a matrix is a graphical entity only. It is for visual aspects of aligning individual entities, not for creating an array. However if you were to create the entities properly, a loop function might be able to help you with your desired outcome.

As for plans in the future, I do not see “array on the fly,” but if you head over to the Idea station, and let us know how you would like the mechanics of this to work, there is a possibility of seeing this as a new feature soon.
