Autodesk PLM 360

As an Autodesk Data Management partner, we are currently working very hard to spread the gospel about PLM 360.

An objection that comes up often (but not all the time, fortunately) is about the protection of intellectual property and trade secrets that may be hosted by cloud-based applications.

One of the worst-case scenarios involve (it seems far-fetched to me, but it has been raised on more than one occasion), an authorized user from the datacenter (e.g. an administrator who has BOTH drug abuse and gambling problems ) successfully extracts confidential data and sends it to a malevolent third party.

Is there any protection in PLM 360 (such as encryption of stored data, on top of HTTPS encryption) to counter such an Apocalyptic scenario?

I have somewhat the same concerns with intellectual property.  I understand 360 it is a secure site, but does the information that is hosted/processed on the 360 cloud become Autodesk's property in any way.  I have heard that renderings that have been processed using the 360 cloud and been used for promotional Autodesk material without permission.  This all comes into play with clients that require you to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to starting a project for them.  I am concerned that if that confidential project uses 360 that an outside entity, i.e. autodesk, has the ability to use the confidential information without the consent of the project team and expose the client to the world.  Please help me out with any information you can.

Pease see the TOS for clarfication in this:

2.1      Your Rights.  As between You and Autodesk, and subject to  Section 2.2 (License by You; Disclosure), You and Your licensors have and will own all right, title, and interest in and to Your Content.

So if I am reading this correctly Autodesk can use any information stored on your 360 account without your knowledge/permission? If that is true you would be violating a Non-disclosure Agreement with your client.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think its vitally important for us and likely a lot of other companies that this grey area is cleared up. I can see the need for Autodesk to access the information and on occasion manipulate it for technical reasons, but it seems little off that they can use it for whatever they want. I can't imagine that is the actual intent of that wording.

I agree, this could be a very important to client supplier relationship and needs to be addressed.  How does a thread get moved to an unsolved state?
