Hi,
for a fan gate you have to model it in cad as a part of cavity(part)model before importing to Adviser.
This is due to the fact that the fan gate width is normally much wider than a regular tab gate, and no fan gate
modeling available in current release.

I have created fan gates using the tapered gate option. Seemed to work well.

crearting a fan gate using moldflow software is a dull work, moldflow should develop certain functions for flexiblae modelling.
in moldflow, the connection between beam and product model is always a issue for application.

Hi,
it would be good to have fan gate modeling within Moldflow Adviser.
As not available in current release, a way to do this can be suggested:
With the release of Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2012 more options of modeling has been introduced.
There is now an interoperability between Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2012 and Inventor Fusion 2012, that can be used to model fan gate.
First, install:
- Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2012
- Autodesk Moldflow Design Link 2012: supports Autodesk Inventor 2012 .ipt and SAT -format (no license required)
- Autodesk Inventor Fusion 2012 (on same computer as Autodesk Moldflow Adviser 2012)
Import the model to Autodesk Inventor Fusion 2012 in file format of such as:
ipt, SAT, parasolid, step, CATPart, sldprt, prt
After modeling fan gate in Inventor Fusion, export as SAT, and import to Moldflow Adviser
Attach a file to show what it can look like.
