The default authentication for the WMS Server Administrator is
username: Admin
password: ChangeMe
You should definately change this as soon as possible if your server is open
to the outside.
If the testinstallation.html page worked for you, then the other test
samples should work as well. This is because it is pulling from the same
url. You should see that the testinstallation.html page has a field called
'Servlet Host', and this is by default set to
http://localhost:8080/liteview6.5/servlet/MapGuideLiteView, which is the
same url that you said didn't work when you called it directly.
I would guess that perhaps you didn't have Tomcat running when you called
the servlet directly? If you don't have Tomcat setup to run as a Windows
Service, then it must be running in a console window. As soon as you close
that console window, it will stop Tomcat.
Did you go through the installation steps described in the Liteview Servlet
Administrators Guide? The only other thing I could think of is that perhaps
you missed a step in setting up LiteView.
