labelling text problem

Some road labels are following too closely to the road curve. As a result labels are partially upside down. In other cases part of the text is tilted so much that the text is impossible to read (in some cases I have seen some characters rotated more than 90 deg comparing to previous character).
More control over text labeling or some fixes about this issue would be appreciated.
