Point selection with ODBC data problem

In checking MGE 2012 (Infrastructure Map Server) I notice that no correction has been made to properly selecting points within polygons or points within a radius for FDO-ODBC data connections. This was identified several years ago. When selecting x-y ODBC data (spatial data works ok), with an irregular polygon or a radius, additional points outside the shape are also selected. These points appear to be within the bounding box of the selection shape. This results in usually a significant GIS error in having points that should not be included. This is basic and should have already been corrected. For spatial data connections (SQL Spatial, SDF, SHP) this is not an error or problem in MG.
