    DWF or Vector viewer

    Hi,
Can the DWF Viewer continue being supported? One of our constraints in moving to MGE from MG6.5(apart from concerns of performance and stability for corporate applications) is the deprecation of the DWF viewer, which takes away the whole gamut of viewing data in vector format.
Vector format is great for high quality maps and moderate size and we do customized vector plotting with MG6.5 ActiveX control at the back-end. Moving to MGE we don't see any path ahead for this, with the DWF viewer being deprecated. Does Autodesk has any suggestions on vector data?

    Thanks,
    Praveen

In this case, deprecation is the same as "no longer available", since
the 2010 DWF viewer does not support eMap and the workaround of
requiring users to keep the 2009 DWF viewer on their PC is not much help.

Even if no other vector-based viewer for MapGuide emerges, you will
still be able to generate DWF plot files using the APIs.

If this is critical and you have funding for it, you may want to talk to
Haris Kurtagic at SL-King. I believe that he's in the planning stages
of building a Silverlight or Flex-based viewer for MapGuide Open Source.
