Can IMS or Mapguide Enterprise 2011 be run on Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Core?

I want to know if I need to do a full & complete install of Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, or if I can reduce the size of it by using the Core version, that reduces the size dramatically.

All it would demand (I assume) is that IIS and .net Framework is installed, if you choose to go with this particular install configuration

Does Server 2008 Core provide this?
