We really need to maintain the symbology (and Link Templates and Object Data and Block Attributes) but mainly symbology. DWG contains wonderful objects and are painstakingly created in AutoCAD (and verticals) because it is so powerful.
Moving to MapGuide should not take away so much data and the time that is taken to create these DWG files - the leaders, wipeouts, blocks, text, custom hatches, custom linetypes, --- basically DWG is really needed (just like in MG 6.5)
