It would be really cool if the FDO provider for ArcSDE supported raster
images. Other mapping products are able to display these images, but it
would be nice if they could be displayed in MapGuide & other Autodesk
products.

How about rasters for ANY FDO data source? The only reason that I mentioned
ArcSDE is because the competition already supports this. There are several
ways that a raster can be georeferenced and stored in a database. The
specific provider (be it Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or ArcSDE) is not as
critical as the feature itself. This capability is desperately needed so
that we can manage and serve up raster images more efficiently than a
file-based system.
