Is there a way to disable visibility of spline end squares, in a sketch?

Not sure why you would want to do this, but

Tools>Application Options>General Tab and set Annotation scale to 0.2

You could also toggle the points to centermarks.

This image is with Annotation Scale at 0.7 and shown both with Points or CenterPoints.
