    sketch selection - creating features

    I always seem to struggle with sketch selection when creating a feature;
    i.e. simple extrusion with 2 circles, one on the face of a previous feature,
    he other the existing sketched circle. I know you can de-select after both
    are highlighted and selected.. is this the only way?. I am currently
    attempting a loft going from a circle on the face of an existing octagon
    feature to a larger circle .75" away. NO matter what I try, the octagon
    portion is picked up as part of the loft (I only want the circle inside of
    it).
    Please use plain text.

    Nick:

    Is there anything preventing you from making the octagon out of
    construction lines?
