    Please see extrusion-1 on inventor 2012 .ipt file.

     

     Can extrusion-1 be shelled between the 2 work planes?

    See attached.  You can do a multiple thickness shell if needed. (I turned off the rotated body in the second file for visibility and used multiple thickness rather than splits).
