I have had the need to shell solid parts and need results of different thichness's on different surfaces. For example, a complex geometry may need sides with one particular thickness and a top with another thickness. Can this be done with the shell command?

Yes, and maybe.
Expand the Shell dialog box.
Attach your file here if you can't figure it out.
