Hi all
How are complex shapes created in Inventor.I have started a propeller but at this point am only able to do the hub.Could a sample be posted in Inventor 2013 on how to create the propeller blades. Is this modelling for this shape done with surface modelling or can it be created with solid modelling technique?
It would be good if a sample is posted of how you would model the blade as such in the picture
Best Regards
Harold

This question has been asked here several times in the past.
If a search doesn't turn up a solution, post back and I'm sure someone will post an example solution.

The attached 4 page PDF, (Version 6 most PFD readers will open this version) file may be of some help, page 4 of this file may give a suggestions as how to proceed by using a series of sketches at the calculated pitch angle and one or more of the profile to form a series of lofts
Thanks in advance for any help & advice

A propeller is just a screw so use the coil tool.
Draw the cross section
Use coil to input pitch
Sketch the projected blade area shape that you want and cut it down to 1 blade
pattern the blade.
Not an exact method for production but good enough to make a simple model for visualisation

I used to use prop data similar to this as an excercise for my advanced students. It usually gave most of them fits, but occaisionally one would solve it.
I've included the files (Inventor 2012) if you wish to see how this model was constructued.
