Sometimes when I'm exiting from a sketch, the entire model goes back to isometric view. Is there a way to STOP this from happening?
Thank you

None of those ideas solved the problem. I assume there is no solution...

Do you mean you don’t think it’s a good idea unchecking the option "Look at sketch plane on sketch creation" or that you still get the isometric view exiting from a sketch even without this option?
In the second case, can you provide a sample where this happens?
Thanks and regards,
Alessandro

I have no problem unchecking that option, actually, that is how I normally have it.
for one example, make a new part, with a new sketch, look at that sketch, and then exit the sketch. The view returns to home. (on mine)
I did uncheck the "fit to view on view change" on the cube, and I am liking that.

I have figured out a way to stop the Iso View on Exit Sketch. Before I click the Exit Sketch command, I orbit the view slightly out-of-plane, then exit the sketch. You have to orbit it out-of-plane, not just rotate the view about the axis normal to the view. I hope that makes sense.
This works the same for 2011 and 2012.

just don't understand why you would have to do this. should be able to turn it off.

Sorry, you’re right.
I’ve discussed with our development.
This was an intentional change according to the user’s feedback.
When users tried to Extrude or Revolve while in a completely plan view, they did could not tell what to select. By going to an ISO view, the users could see what they are doing.
There is no way to turn it off, but, it will only occur if the view is in a completely plan view.
As it has been already suggested by cwhetten, if you orbit out of the plan view by just 1°, it will not go back to an ISO view.
Kind regards,
Alessandro

I have to agree with Chris on this: this should be a selectable option.
If I'm working in a cluttered model with lots of stuff going on, the last thing I want when exiting a sketch is for the whole thing to rotate away from where I've been working. Maybe the guys who want their sketch rotated for selection purposes should just rotate it, insead of requiring all those who don't want it rotated to rotate it a little to prevent it rotating a lot!
