I know very little about this, but I think the key word is 'Library'. There are several threads in the NG about, libraries being changed to read-only in IV6; maybe this is the problem.

Three users reported that the files crashed their newsgroup
reader so the files were removed. Files should not be posted to
technical support groups. Below is the standard text sent on
files. Please ZIP your files and repost to Customer Files.

Customer Files area ay be found at

I have a well thought out, perfectly healthy iPart factory in
    5.3.

When I bring it into 6 I am unable to edit the table. I get a
    message
telling me that the current values do not match the parts current
    values.
It then asks me if I want to update the table befor continuing.

I assume that if I choose "Yes" the value of the table is
supposed to update to match the current current value.

I also assume that if I choose "No" the value of the table will
    not update.

Here is the kicker, whether I choose yes or no, upon exiting the
    iPart
Author dialog box that says "Cannot modify the library file C:\
    .....
    factory.ipt"

I am significantly troubled by this. We have invested a
    significant amount
of money in iParts that worked great in 5.3. We are wondering if
    we are
losing that investment. I have tried searching for errors in 5.3
    and have
found nothing. I can get no clues from 6.0. Anyone out there
    have a
    solution?

I have attached the ipart of a simple screw (307 different
    separate line
items). We have many more of these, this is a small one. Please
    help me.

Note that I have attached our companies "Threads.xls" file. The
    iParts will
not work in 5.3 without this file.
