    dual monitor issues

I am using a laptop with a docking station with a second monitor. After undocking and then running Inventor, some Inventor dialogs won't appear because they are trying to show on the non-existent second montitor. I have tried turning off the second monitor before undocking, then running Inventor from the laptop screen. Didn't help.
I've noticed it most often with the Open File dialog. It also happens with the Parameters, Text and label dialogs. The dialog flashes for a split second, but then it goes away. When this happens Invnetor appears locked up - but it it just waiting for input on the dialog I can't see. I have to hit Esc to cancel the dialog, then inventor is fine.

Running Inventor 2010 SP2, XP64, Dell Latitued E6500, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M. Updated video drivers to the latest.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas to resolve?
    Thanks

Here is one "trick" for when you try to open a dialog and think its over on the non-existant second screen. Simply hit "Alt+spacebar" then "Enter" then use the "arrow keys" to move the dialog back onto the screen so its visible. That invokes the move command for the dialog box and allows you to slide it back into your screen.

The correct procedure for moving the window back
    onto the monitor is:

Hold the ALT key and press the
    Spacebar.

    Hit the M key.

Hit any of the arrow keys.

    Now move your mouse.

You already have two good suggestions on how to solve this problem but here is what I do when I have this problem. On my laptop I have a Fn key that you can press and hold then another key, in my case F4, that you can press which causes the laptop to cylce through the options to display on the laptop only, on both the laptop and an external device, or only the external device. When I remove my laptop from the docking station and the dual monitor mode I experience exactly what you are describing. To solve this I press and hold the Fn key and press the F4 key ONCE. After about 3-5 seconds the missing dialog box will appear and I never have to press the key combo again, all the dialogs appear correctly. And just for clarification I wait until the 'missing dialog box' event happens before I press the key combo.

    Hope this helps, Paul

    Thanks for the options.
The FN key trick is a little quicker. It also seems like you won't have to do it for each dialog that doesn't apear.
