    dimension reference geometry???

I have projected reference geometry to create an extrusion and now want to
modify the size of the reference geometry.

I have turned off "adaptivity" and broken the "link" to the reference
geometry but I get a dialog box telling me that I cannot dimension or
    constrain reference geometry.

What do I have to do to dimension or constrain reference geometry???

    Thanks

After you broke the link (important step) select the line and try to change
it to normal geometry via the styles pulldown at the top of the IV window.
