dangerous BOM issue

Group,
Had a interesting, but dangerous effect today:
created part 1
created part 2 (similar to part 1)
created idw off part 1
did a save copy as
opened saved copy of idw, deleted views of part 1, inserted views of part 2
edited some manual partslist entries and titleblock entries
So, now I have the views showing part 2, but the BOM reflecting (partially)
part 1.
You now tell me, I shouldn't do this? Then, I tell you, why doesn't IV
delete the BOM when the last view is deleted? (like all dims and annotations
and balloons get deleted)???????
