I have 2 questions about weldments

    1. When adding a hole to a weldment and selecting a depth of the hole there is no option "FROM TO". Is there a workaroud for this other that using a distance?

    2. When starting a new sketch on the weldment, the surface that you select is not projected to the sketch. This works in a part file why does it not work in a weldment?

You're correct that this is missing. What you can
do is select thru all, then expand the maching feature to see the parts that is
passing thru and RMB on the part(s) that you don't want the hole and "remove
    participant".
