I have been using 6.0 for a short time. All was good until I started to build my assemblies. Now Inventor power exits often...about 15 time this morning mostly while placing constraints, and once while saving. I called my VAR he says reload 5.3 and wait for service pack 1. Alot of help that is! Is 6.0 defective?? Arrg... this is frustrating! VAR say S.P. 1 will be available Nov. 15th. Is this correct? Sorry to sound negative, this is a great group. I hope to get this software issue resolved so I can get back to design.
Thanks,
Mike

It depends on the problems you are facing. I have one customer who has migrated all his files to
R6, and he is a serious power user, and the only problems he has had are the random font quirks, and
some balloon/parts list quirks that he has a workaround for and is quite happy.
I also have another customer who are using R6 only for a new project and all current production work
is still being done on 5.3 until they are happy with rolling it out across all their sites.

I have had a problem or two with R6. If you can wait for the service pack, I would.

I am using Windows 2000 with office XP. 2.4 GHz, 1GB RAM, Elsa Gloria III (Quadro2 pro), Swap file = 2000MB, Newest NVIDIA Driver 4.1.0.3. I had very few problems with 5.3 compared to 6.0. I will try an older video driver next. Any other suggestions? Are other VAR's giving the advice I got or I'm I being "put-off". Thanks, Mike
