UGH, 5.3 & XP Pro new lock violation errors

Just started getting lock violation errors. Multi User is off as it always has been, nothing has changed except just finally went from NT to XP Pro. Files worked fine with XP til now. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance for your time!
