    Mechman,

I'm quite new to Win2k, so I didn't really get used
to this until now, but will keep trying. It was not there in WinNT.

    I
like your part type idea as icons on the main window. Another trick. In the
Open dialog box highlight the first file and then start typing in the file
name you're looking for and the dialog box will scroll itself to find your
file. For example say you're looking for a file named 976-8.ipt in a directory
full of files (including other dash numbers of the same file). In the open
dialog box start typing in 9 (jumps to files starting with "9"), 7 (jumps to
files with "97"), and continue typing in as much as you need to jump to that
area of files in the directory. Works great if you know part of a file name
but not the whole name. This also works in Windows Explorer and most other
file dialog boxes. I hope this eases your scroll wheel finger a little.
