    Suppressing features in drawings

I have a situation where I wish to create 2 sheets in an idw file of a part which is to be wire cut. I need to have 1 sheet where only the wire cut features are shown, and a second sheet where all features are shown.

    Thanks in advance

Chris, I don't think suppression is going to do you much good. Plenty of other ways to skin the cat. You can highlite any visible edge and the right click context menu should have "visibility" as an option. Just uncheck it for the edges you want to hide. Use that workflow on the views for wire cuts only (very tedious). Where, in the part tree, are the wire cuts? At the beginning of the part or at the end? I'd think in terms of a derived part. Create part1 with just the wire cuts. Derive part1 to part2. Add the remaining features to part2. Then create a sheet for each part. darvin "ChrisR3" wrote in message news:28199243.1084398021623.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1... > I have a situation where I wish to create 2 sheets in an idw file of a part which is to be wire cut. Thanks Darvin
The wire cut is at the beginning of the part so that should work fine

Good deal, As long as you can isolate the "pre-wire", "wire" and "post-wire" steps, the derive method works best for me. Though I use it for mill/lathe or mold/mill problems more than wire. These are the kinds of things that you need to look ahead and plan for so they don't screw up your view requirements. darvin "ChrisR3" wrote in message news:20735926.1084404060856.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1.autodesk.com... > Thanks Darvin > The wire cut is at the beginning of the part so that should work fine

iParts could also be an option? -- Rui "darvinv" wrote in message news:40a2b66a_3@newsprd01... > Good deal, > As long as you can isolate the "pre-wire", "wire" and "post-wire" > steps, the derive method works best for me.
