    Sort by Part Number

With all my weeks of IV (2008 SP0) experience, I'm stuck trying to sort my parts list by part number. I would like, and expect, 10 to follow 9, but 10 follows 1. The order went 1, 10, 11, 2, 3, 4... I got no satisfaction from the new search, although previously it worked great to access all the info here. Can the numbers be sorted numerically?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Ken
I did try a jpg but got an upload error...

Right Mouse Button on your Parts List and go to "Edit Parts List". Click the A to Z button and sort based on Item.

10 will follow 09 in a sort pattern. The problem
starts with the field justifaction being a LH fill of the file and not a RH
fill. Because the field is alpha-numeric, it is set for LH fill and not a
numeric only field that is set for RH fill/justification.

Item 1 is pn 1, item 2 is pn 10, 3 is 11, 4 is 2, etc. Item sort had no effect unfortunately. What's up with that, overlooking something obvious here....

No, that's how it works. It's very annoying indeed.
Side note to Mark. Parts List is better to sort out by Parts Number first,
IMO. Subject that parts are numbered in a logical order. Besides, in a
complex assembly some of the parts may be added later but in a Parts List
they should appear on a top of the list, not in the middle or the end of it.
But with half cooked sort out functionality of the Parts List it is a time
    consuming task.

I was wondering if the service packs would help, still getting this system up to speed, but approaching with caution...Thanks!

No, still at 2008 SP0, I may be doing some downloading/updating, then see what happens. Then go for 2009, right?! I somewhat hesitant, with no other issues yet, if it ain't broke...
