I have a master sketch part.
I have a simple sketch containing 3 lines.
I have derived this sketch from the master part into a new sheet metal part which was created using the make layout function in an assembly file.
I assigned a contour flange to the profile.
When I change the dimensions in the master part and revisit theassembly. The contour changes direction. Why?
Works fine if i created the sheet metal part not using the make layout.
Seems inventor is getting confused with coordinates somewhere within this functionality.

See attached.
In Inventor 2012.
It doesnt work even if the part is created not using make layout.
Open the assembly first and take not of all contour flange directions.
Go into the master sketch file and change say the 1350 dim to 1550.
Then open the assembly. Note the direction of 2 contour flanges have changed. Whats doing here Autodesk?
