Hi

I have switched computers from my laptop to my workstation.  My laptop has an Nvidia card FX2500M, and my workstation has an ATI Fire V5600.

I work with the ribbon minimised to tabs.  On my laptop, when I click a tab the ribbon opens directly below the tab (i.e. justified to the left of the screen); but on my workstation, the ribbon opens below the tab but justified to the right of the screen.  This means I have to move the cursor back and forth across the screen.

Is there a Reg setting to change the justified back to the left of the screen?

When the ribbon minimise is on other settings (e.g. minimise to panel tiles) the ribbon is justified to the left side of the screen.

Personally, I think its an easter egg from one of those wierd left handed people - like my wife!!!

To see where the justification was set to. In the ribbon menu at the end in a gray area (no tabs) or anywhere in the ribbon. RMB and select the Ribbon Appearence and see that it set to Normal and Docking Position, TOP. Check that before (if you haven't)  we look at the registry.

Yes, I checked and it is set to 'top'.

Have you got any suggestions on the registry to try?

I have no issues with editing the registry.  I did this before when I suddenly had the original interface in 2012, and had to switch it to the ribbon.

I have just updated my laptop to Windows 7.  I have a Nvidia Quadro 2800M card.

I have been using this setup for a few days with no problem, but I was just changing the pre-highlight settings (turn off) and Optimized selection (changed time to 1.0 sec).  Suddenly my minimised ribbon is now justified to the right of the screen again (like I had on my main workstation - also Windows 7, but with FireGL card).

I have tried putting settings back but menu is still justified to right.

This is a real problem as it slows my work flow down considerably.

You help would be greatly appreciated.

Try cycling the Menu around, Top, Left, Right and back to Top and see if that fixes it.

Never seen a Menu with RH justification.

Hi

Just tried cycling the options.  I did this with the ribbon in each minimise option, then each location, but it didn't sort it.

I also noticed the reset to default, but that didn't sort it either.

Help!

Any more suggestions from Autodesk?

Maybe some Registry values to tweak?
