Rendering Parts As Transparent - Not Working. . .

I'm trying to Render parts as transparent.  I'm able to make my parts transparent with the Appearance Browser but THEY WON'T RENDER AS TRANSPARENT.

I've tried many different things - none work.  I've tried Transparent Materials, Transparent Appearances, Creating new colors and setting them as transparent.

All these options will change my transparency but will not Render the part as transparent.

I made this work in Inventor 2012 by changing the Opacity in the Styles Editor and my Parts would render as transparent in my main assemblies.  Worked Great - but now. . . No Luck.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I've attached a rendering that I did in Inventor 2012 for a reference as to what I am looking to accomplish with Transparent Rendering in Inventor 2013.

    Thanks.

    Ok.  Got it.

    Thanks to all who replied.

Seriously, if you have any questions on transparency - I can probably field them at this point - feel free to contact me.

...well, I have exactly the same problem, but we would like to let parts render as transparent already in the modeling environment. With 2012 it was absolutely no problem. With 2013 it is possible, because I have parts rendering as transparent in the modeling environment (they were already transparent in 2012), but I could not find a way to make them transparent, by applying an appearance.

Do you have a solution for that?

    SEE ATTACHMENT:

Go to your Appearance Browser and duplicate an appearance from your Default.

Rename and set your Transparency settings as shown.

Apply renamed appearance to your part.  You can also play with the tint for a specific color to your transparency.

Let me know it this works out.

    ...yes, it worked out.

In principle it's enough to take anything from the standard libraries that is already transparente and modify it...

...but you cannot make something that you already have "transparent".

They are wasting me so much time....

I know it's ridiculous right?  Can't understand AutoDESK logic.  I can't help but wonder if they actually ever use or test their own software in a real world environment - actually, it's pretty obvious that they don't.

I can't tell you how much extra time this has cost me as well.

    Take it easy man.
