1) Save your Inventor IDW into an Inventor DWG or AutoCAD DWG.
2) Open the DWG in AUTOCAD.
3) If the view geometry is selectable go to step 4, otherwise you'll need to SAVE AS> Save Layout as Drawing. Then open the drawing in AutoCAD when prompted.
4) WMFOUT and select the desired geometry. (You may want to explode the view blocks first)
5) You can insert that WMF into Word or AI
