How do I switch the Point, Hole Center tool from hole center to point? Where
do I find the Command toolbar? The To create hole centers or sketch points
help file states in part, Click the Style down arrow on the Command Toolbar,
and select Sketch point. However, I searched the Customize dialog window,
under the toolbars tab and found no Command toolbar listed. Checking under
the commands tab, I found no Style command listed.
Thanks for your help, Bob

Click on the point hole center tool in the tool bar same as you would making
a center for a hole. Look in the menu bar on the right you will see it says
Hole Center. Pick the drop-down arrow and you will see Sketch point as well.

Bob, the "style" pull down is the one where you may have changed the colour
of a part, or the type of line from normal to construction, or between
various dimension styles in an IDW... it's on the right of all the
zoom/pan/orbit icons (in what i presume is the "sommand bar"...)
when you have a hole point selected you can use it to change the style to a
sketch point, though to be honest i never bother... hole points do
everything sketch points do, just that they automatically select themselves
when you start the hole command... other than that they behave exactly the
same.

Thank you both for your replies. I become uncomfortable at times posting to
this NG for answers to simple questions, like the one posted here. The Help
files have miss-directed me more than once in my search for information
while learning how to use Inventor. Is there someone at Autodesk that I
might be interested in correcting the help files on items such as indicated
here?
thanks again, Bob.

Bob,
Of course, we're interested in correcting the Help files. Please use the
Bug Report Submission form in
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/item/0,,1073063-12311 2,00.html
Make sure to select "Documentation" in the "Type of Problem" field. Our
technical writers will be glad to fix them. Thank you for your support.
