    Patent Drawing Shading Lines

Hello, I just recently had a set of my patent drawings rejected due to shading line. I currently use Inventor 2011 Professional, I have never seen or know how to make shading lines in the Inventor software. Anyone have ideas on where I should go to get these done?

    huh?

Do you mean you need drawings with shaded views?

Or do you mean you need drawings without shaded views?
Or do you mean something else?

please clarify, and I'm sure someone can assist.

Sorry, shading lines. In the attached image file you can see in Fig. 1 there are shading lines there to show depth. I hope this is a good explanation of what they are.

I think to get that kind of thing you'll need to do it manully:

Select the view you want to work with,

Click the New Sketch button to create a new sketch that is "tied" to the view (be sure you have selected the view first),

Use the Project Geometery command to project the edges of the part for reference,

Sketch in the "shading" lines to your liking,

    Finish sketch.

Hopefully you don't have a lot of these to do.

If so maybe someone else knows a better way.

Go to cbliss.com and look for the file posted there that has different line types or texture maps for use with patent drawings.

    Hope this helps, Paul

That's what I had in mind, I just wanted to know if there was a quick command that had some type of ANSI standard shading lines.
