As part of my mechanical engineering dissertation i will be using inventor to produce a Parameter driven design. I am looking for any examples of real life situations where such systems are in place. Any help with this would be very much appreciated

Most of the products that I work with are substantially similar within family groups. Biggest variation within the group will be height / depth. Carefully setting up my parameters ahead of time, planning ahead, allows me to build the first part, save as a new file name, change a couple parameters and have the next part. Lather, rinse, repeat. Saves a lot of time over making 26 different part variants from scratch.
Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

I created some Unistrut extrusion that had some parameters that needed to be setup. The complete model
was not created using parameters, but the parameters needed to adjust were for publishing to the CC for
frame generator.
I can attach a model of one if that will help you.
