Outlines printed shaded views in r6

(same post was in the original inventor discussion, but its important for me
to get this right. so I brought it here too)

Noticed the prints (with shaded views) comes out looking more "cartoony"
than in 5.3 ? The outlines are more defined with a bolder line than
earlier. Same file in Inventor 5.3 looks normal...I use the same templates
    etc.

Why, and how to get back to normal ? Please fix in Sp1 - I have allready
sent away hundreds of drawings in r5.3 style, if I now send a revision done
in r6 it don`t exactly "fit in" with the rest of the set if you see what I
    mean.

Jørgen, Try changing your visible edges in :- Format-Standards-Common, Drop
    the line weight.

Sorry I meant drop the line weight down....... say from 0.5 to 0.35, this
works fine for me. This should cut the cartoon's out to pro looking?

No good, I still want the 0.5 in hidden line views and the r5.3 shaded
"style" had more like 0.25 than 0,35.
I can`t change the lineweight down to that. I wan`t my drawings to look the
same as they did in 5.3 without changing the standards....I guess this was a
bug in 5.3 that is now fixed in r6 ? If so they should have made it a option
    instead.

I hope and believe that this will be addressed in a service pack. It
certainly lowers the quality of the shaded views. I originally used very
few shaded views, but have begun adding shaded isos to almost all my
drawings the last few months. To diminish the value of this is not good.
However, my greater immediate problem with the shaded views is the "bleed
through" of lines that should be hidden. They do not show in my view until
I print. Then apparently random lines pop up and make a mess of my printed
view. I can individually select those lines and turn off visibility, but
this is time consuming and difficult because the lines do not show in the
view. Does anyone have a better work around for this? Do I need to
eliminate the shading until this is fixed?

Can you save as BMP and then print the BMP to a pdf or to the printer. I
had a similar problem in 5.3 and shaded presentations. The trails would
bleed throught. I wonder if they still do?

I believe that can be done, but I use my shaded views on the same sheet with
multiple non-shaded dimensioned views. Also, those BMP views would not
update. Of course now that I think about it, the "cartoon" outline shaded
views with "bleed through" need to be cleaned up all over again after a
geometry change, so that may be an improvement in some cases. Certainly for
presentation only, it could help. Thanks.
