Mechanical symbols explode when saving as dwg

When I save an IDW to DWG, the mechanical symbols (feature control frames,
datum targets, etc.) always explode. I know Acad does not support all these
symbols but Acad Mechanical does.
It there a way convert these symbols directly to the Acad Mechanical
equivalents? Currently I erase each one and replace them manually.
I'm not trying to gripe here, but this is yet another time waster and
headache that I get when converting to dwg.
