    Level of Detail in 2010

Inventor 2010 user with standard Vault 2010.

    Hi,

Any known bugs when using LOD in Inventor 2010 with the Vault?

    Prob. 1.

I have made an .iam file with a lot of subassys in a library, the subass are controlled by Excelsheets. I have Created two Substitue LODs (called "Low" and "Medium") without using "reduced memory mode", so that it will be able to update globally in a more efficient way.

I use this file to copy design from in the Vault to maybe ten copies per project, all used in the same new main assembly for a big layout structure. I have the same LODs in this mainassembly and use "Link all substitute LOD".  I Always give every part its uniqe name in the copy design step.

When I change a size in a subass in one of the ten copies i of course want the LOD for this copy to change as well, so that the shape changes in the main layout assembly. I does not do that automatically, and when I push "Update all substitue" it asks if I want to check out the Library assembly file, from which i originally copied from?!?!

Is this a bug, and if so---Does it work if I update to Vault Professional and Inventor 2012?

    Problem 2:

    I have a Win7, 64 Bit computer, 8GB Ram, Nvidia Quadro 3000M.

When I use LOD, sometimes the models, or part of models just disappear?! I find the individual parts, but when I look in the assembly it has just disappeared?! Like a graphical problem? Sometimes it shows again when I "undo checkout", sometimes not. What causes this problem? is it the LOD function in Invenotr 2010?
