Hi,

A costomer sent us an IGES file 228 MB in size and it's trying to open but its been almost an hour.

I tried different options in the options tab before opening but still dooging it.

Any ideas

What software is it coming from and what options did they select before sending it.

You could also post the iges file here for us to try.

I doubt you will be able to open a file that size.

Anything of that size should be multiple parts/sub-assemblies.

Ask them to break it up into reasonable files considering individual parts/sub-assemblies.

Dont know what program created it or what they did and cant ask. Had to access it from a secure site with passwords etc  etc.

As I was walking out today it finally started to generate on my monitor. In the browse I saw at least 8 assemblies. I tried to orbit the model and it stalled and got the hour glass for ever so I went home.

When I arrive in the moring maybe I can open each assy and save it as I IAM so I can work with it ??

Sales guy sent it to me for quote. UGH

Working now. Finally.

Pulled out the assembly I needed.
