Is it possible to change parameter value of derived sketch block?

This may require a more advanced feature, but if I use sketch blocks, and have a part that derives and imports these blocks, is it possible to make these flexable by changing a paramter of the sketch block? For example if I have a sketch block that uses stock_thickness to be define various dimensions, and I want to use sketch block, but I need to change this stock_thickness. If this is more than sketch blocks are used for, what can I use for this?
